Senior Director of Finance

We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Finance to join our growing team. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Senior Director of Finance will lead and manage the full suite of finance needs at the company, including accounting, cash management, financial planning and analysis, and strategic support (commercial and business related), and they will be a key contributor in fundraising activities. The Senior Director of Finance will also be focused on developing robust financial processes and controls, establishing and maintaining a cadence of financial activities (including monthly financial and management / KPI reporting, quarterly forecasting, budgeting, and planning), and supporting a wide range of decision-making and analytical needs to drive growth in the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger and accounting system, and ensure all company transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP
  • Complete month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Work with external tax, audit, and accounting firms to supervise and manage all outsourced finance-related transactions and projects
  • Construct and monitor reliable financial controls, and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Perform cash management responsibilities, including banking and working capital management, invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable management
  • Develop and maintain Ursa Health’s monthly financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities
  • Develop and implement standardized and scalable budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tools and processes
  • Create and manage the budgeting process, and oversee expense management
  • Support the leadership team in assessing the financial drivers of the business, financial implications, and strategic objectives
  • Partner on vendor contracting and customer deal design, contracting, and negotiations, including any related modeling needs
  • Work closely with the leadership team on board and investor presentations

Skills and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting, statistics, or a related field
  • CPA/CFA highly desirable
  • 8-12 years of progressive finance responsibility, with emphasis on financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
  • 5+ years’ experience as a leader of financial planning and analysis functions
  • Previous investment banking/management consulting or Big 5 accounting firm experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success in implementing FP&A and budgeting functions
  • Exceptional financial modeling and understanding of income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow relationships
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting rules, and experience using accounting software
  • Superior Excel skills, experience with QuickBooks, and the ability to use financial reporting data analytics and visualization software
  • Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and board relations/reporting preferred
  • Highly analytical, strategic, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence
  • Ability to transition seamlessly from complex analyses to simple, precise business implications
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to convey and synthesize technical financial information to non-financial professionals
  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, initiative, and integrity
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver in a deadline-oriented environment
