Too often, introducing a new data model and analytics platform to your organization requires a massive time and resource investment before a team is able to create anything of value. We’ve been there ourselves and have lived the pain of ever-extending implementation timelines, generic training that doesn’t truly prepare the team, and the long delay it takes to become proficient.

Ursa takes a different approach, with three core building blocks to quick ramp-up:

  • Experts with relevant industry experience and technical skills: We deploy dedicated team members with extensive industry experience who develop a deep understanding of your business and data model.
  • Software built by insiders: We’ve designed the software itself to have incredible flexibility at all stages of the data journey, supporting the creation of a data model and analytics operation customized to your organization.
  • Onboarding that works: Our flexible training model ensures users are confident with the platform in less than two weeks.

Experts with relevant expertise and technical skills

Each member of the Ursa Community receives a Dedicated Ursa Advisor (DTA), who provides individualized support when and where you need it to meet your unique objectives. Our advisors are not generalist project or account managers. They take their background in healthcare and develop a deep understanding of your organization, objectives, and data so that they can complete the initial end-to-end build and train your team in parallel. You’ll use your own data during training, which spurs engagement and speeds learning.

Throughout our partnership, your DTA will connect your team members with the tools and training that will have the most impact. Our partners often tell us that our ability to meet them where they are, from the foundational to the highly sophisticated components of reporting, has given their team a leg up in driving value for their organization. Common areas where partners leverage our support include:

  • Program evaluation for value based arrangements
  • Provider quality and cost measurement
  • Development of internal reporting on CMS measures
  • Development of internal reporting on payer measures
  • Moving beyond outcome measures to produce associated intermediate and process measures that provide actionable interventions to those on the front line
  • Database architecture strategies and best practices
  • Advanced analytics and machine learning

Software built by insiders

The Ursa Health Platform was developed by healthcare database architects, analysts, clinicians, and operational leaders. We know the common pain points to avoid and the robust features needed to make the end-to-end process enjoyable instead of a Herculean pursuit.

An organization gains tremendous value when it approaches its analytics with a goal of rapid iteration, so we started with that premise. The platform is designed to allow incremental enrichment of the data model, which naturally occurs as measures are built to answer questions or explore opportunities surrounding specific business objectives. Features that Ursa users are often most excited about include:

  • Transparency: Highly transparent measure definitions and terms ensure consistent results across team members, regardless of tenure, and give report recipients confidence in the results.
  • No code: Loading raw data, editing objects (tables/views), building measures, creating reports, and sharing results can all be done in one place, without a single line of code.
  • Reusability: Assets such as measures can be cloned, so answers to ad hoc “what if” questions take minutes instead of days to produce.

Onboarding that works

Database architects and analysts are busy. Our training process allows you to keep all the trains running on time while continually building your team’s capacity and confidence in Ursa.

Our three-pronged approach allows progressive levels of training on the platform and the development of your first actionable report to run in parallel:

  • See One: While your team completes Ursa 101 training, your Ursa team is in the driver’s seat, setting up your initial data model and measures to produce an actionable report based on your objectives.
  • Do One: With Ursa as your copilot, your team then takes the wheel, applying their training to your own data model to produce a second report. Your team’s DTA has become well versed in your data model and business objectives at this point and can provide the support you need to become successful.
  • Master One: Our two teams continue to actively engage with each other to take your organizational impact to the next level, whether that’s further enriching the data model, incorporating advanced analytics or machine learning, providing best practices on driving innovation through analytics, or working on another area of advanced knowledge.
