Today, Ursa Health announces a version 2.3 release of its flagship software product. Version 2.3 packs many innovative features for the Platform’s Data Studio module, further empowering IT teams with a software interface for managing the full data journey. The introduction of Ursa’s built-in smart ETL tool leads v2.3’s innovations.
Ursa’s smart ETL embeds functionality that auto-detects the dependencies between tables in the data model. Where competing ETL products require the user to create tiers of tables to refresh in sequence, several clicks in Ursa’s ETL kicks off a precise, automated process that eliminates the manual, error-prone complexity of developing and tracking the tiers. An additional benefit comes in run time because the ETL begins a table’s refresh as soon all upstream tables are complete – as opposed to delaying until a full tier is complete. Best yet, being fully native to Ursa’s Data Studio, customers can utilize ETL without purchasing an additional product and without the typical interoperability struggles associated with stand-alone ETL tools.
“Customers are reporting tremendous results after our ETL implementation. One customer relayed that for years it struggled with a run time of over 160 hours using an industry-leading ETL tool,” Andy Hackbarth, Ursa Health’s Chief Product Officer, describes. “Upon switching to the Ursa’s smart ETL, the refresh ran with dramatically less human monitoring and reached completion in under 48 hours. This performance improvement enabled the customer IT team to meet its reporting demands more efficiently and reliably.”
